Austin Brown, known affectionately as “Auggie” by his family and friends, is the youngest child of Rebbie Jackson and Nathaniel Brown. Austin has pretty much stayed out of the spotlight in his childhood. He did go on tour with his mother in the late 90’s and he traveled along with 3T in Europe in 1997 during the Brotherhood tour. Auggie played instruments during several showcases of Rebbie in The States in 1998, but other than that, he did not make many appearances in video clips or shows like many of his cousins did. So he has been working on his musical skills in silence and surprised everyone when he announced that he was working on an album in 2004.
For Austin, being of pop royalty is a responsibility, rather than a privilege; he has a lot to live up to – and knows it. Austin is expected to create a really off-the-wall style for his generation by taking the old school feel, updating it to today and reminding people that it’s OK to be musical, it’s OK to play instruments, it’s OK to love melodies, do harmonies and dance.
In the past, Austin was writing and producing some tracks with childhood friend Brandon Howard (son of R&B vocalist Micky Howard), who has worked with Missy Elliott and Ginuwine. In 2008 he hooked up with Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins whom he met at Neverland at the age of 13, when Rodney was working with his uncle Michael on the Invincible album. Austin has been in the studio with Team Darkchild, including producers Tony Mardini and Tommy Parker and songwriter LaShawn Daniels. Austin also did a lot of songwriting with Walter Afanasieff. Elements that will give the debut album its gleam is Austin’s instrumentation – guitar, piano, drums, bass, and percussion, making him one very busy artist in the studio.
Rodney Jerkins announced via Twitter in 2010 that he and Austin were making an album sounding like an international classic titled '85. On his 24th birthday, November 22, Austin’s relaunched his MySpace with a fresh design and new pictures. He also joins Facebook and Twitter, making him a busy and active man in the fan community. The official website AustinBrown.com was launched in June of 2010. In September of the same year the first song was shared with the world, titled "Target Practice".
Austin makes his way into the spotlight, doing radio, tv and press interviews and making appearances at public events. In March 2011 Austin did a contest via his website to win a chat with him and he made phone calls to the winners that he picked. On May 14th, the '85 trailer, a mash up of several songs in a music video, premiered at Wango Tango event, a gift to his fans to enjoy and a wonderful introduction to the public. Next song Austin premiered was "All I Need" on KIIS FM in June 2011 which he also performed live on his TV performance debut on Lopez Tonight on July 26, 2011. On July 18th, 2011 Austin performed an acoustic version of 'Slow Down" live on Global Soul TV. On 12 November 2011, Austin's US fansite premiered the full track "Midnight Man" as a gift to the fans. From fall of 2011 Austin is doing live shows with the "backpackkids" and band.
Backpackkids are Austin and his best friends Tommy Parker and Scott Bruzenak who make and produce music together and are having a good time at it. The trio that is known as “Backpackkids” are talented LA born guys who share a passion for music and having fun.

In the very up close and personal shows, Austin brought love peace, harmony and unity to Paris.
