Brandi Jackson (daughter of Jackie Jackson, niece of Michael Jackson) spilled the tea on Wade Robson on Twitter. Last week, her uncle Jermaine Jackson stated on Good Morning Britain that Wade dated two of his cousins. One of them is Brandi and she writes:
Tea time 🐸☕️— Brandi Jackson (@BJackson82) February 11, 2019
Wade and I were together for over 7 years, but I bet that isn’t in his “documentary” because it would ruin his timeline. And did I mention, it was my uncle, #MichaelJackson, who set us up? Wade is not a victim, #WadeRobsonIsaLiar
I pray he comes at me for these #truths cause I will happily put him in his place.— Brandi Jackson (@BJackson82) February 11, 2019
I found out Wade cheated on me with multiple woman who he hoped would advance his career. You might know one of them, because it was a huge pop music scandal. Wade is not a victim, he’s an #Opportunist— Brandi Jackson (@BJackson82) February 11, 2019
Wade: You constantly talked about wanting to be “relevant”. You’ve burned so many bridges that now the only time you are #relevant is when you headline with my family’s name next to yours. It’s time to stop these lies and live your own life. #LiesRunSprintsButTruthsRunMarathons— Brandi Jackson (@BJackson82) February 11, 2019
Make sure to listen a special roundtable episode of The MJCast bringing together a panel of experts and those who have seen Leaving Neverland and are taking action against it. Q and Jamon lead the discussion, and are joined by Taj Jackson (who is currently raising funds to produce his own counter docu-series), Charles Thomson (The MJCast’s Legal Correspondent and award-winning investigative journalist who has exposed a range of actual child abusers and cover-ups for The Yellow Advertiser in the UK), Marcos Cabotá (a film director who has seen the film and was one of its earlier critics) and Samar Habib (of the Michael Jackson Academia Project, who has been a leading figure in the online movement against the film). Michael Jackson's family members said Monday that they are "furious" that two men who accuse him of sexually abusing them as boys have received renewed attention because of a new documentary about them. The family released a statement denouncing, Leaving Neverland, a documentary film featuring accusers Wade Robson and James Safechuck that premiered last week at the Sundance Film Festival and is set to air in the spring on HBO and the U.K.'s Channel 4.
"Michael always turned the other cheek, and we have always turned the other cheek when people have gone after members of our family — that is the Jackson way," the statement said. "But we can't just stand by while this public lynching goes on.... Michael is not here to defend himself, otherwise these allegations would not have been made."
The family points out that Jackson was subjected to a thorough investigation which included a surprise raid of his home, the Neverland Ranch, but was still acquitted at his criminal trial in 2005, in a case involving another young man.
Robson testified at that trial, saying he had slept in Jackson's room many times, but that Jackson had never molested him. Safechuck made similar statements to investigators as a boy. Jackson died in 2009. Both men filed lawsuits in 2013 saying stress and trauma had forced them to face the truth and admit they were sexually abused. The suits have been thrown out on technical grounds but are under appeal.
The Jackson statement calls the men "perjurers" because of this reversal, saying the family is "furious" that media outlets without evidence have chosen "to believe the word of two admitted liars over the word of hundreds of families and friends around the world who spent time with Michael."
The film's director Dan Reed has said he has no doubts about the men's validity. The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they come forward publicly, which Robson and Safechuck have done on multiple occasions.
The family insists that truth and evidence are on their side. "We are proud of what Michael Jackson stands for," the statement said.
Read the Jackson family’s entire statement below:
Michael Jackson is our brother and son. We are furious that the media, who without a shred of proof or single piece of physical evidence, chose to believe the word of two admitted liars over the word of hundreds of families and friends around the world who spent time with Michael, many at Neverland, and experienced his legendary kindness and global generosity. We are proud of what Michael Jackson stands for.
People have always loved to go after Michael. He was an easy target because he was unique. But Michael was subjected to a thorough investigation which included a surprise raid of Neverland and other properties as well as a jury trial where Michael was found to be COMPLETELY INNOCENT. There has never been one piece of proof of anything. Yet the media is eager to believe these lies.
Michael always turned the other cheek, and we have always turned the other cheek when people have gone after members of our family – that is the Jackson way. But we can’t just stand by while this public lynching goes on, and the vulture tweeters and others who never met Michael go after him. Michael is not here to defend himself, otherwise these allegations would not have been made.
The creators of this film were not interested in the truth. They never interviewed a single solitary soul who knew Michael except the two perjurers and their families. That is not journalism, and it’s not fair, yet the media are perpetuating these stories.
But the truth is on our side. Go do your research about these opportunists. The facts don’t lie, people do. Michael Jackson was and always will be 100% innocent of these false allegations.
Last summer, the Michael Jackson estate and Columbia Live Stage announced that they were developing a new stage musical inspired by the life of the dead pop star. On Wednesday, they confirmed it will be titled Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough. The production will have its out-of-town premiere in Chicago (beginning October 29th and running through December 1st) at the James M. Nederlander Theatre, before transferring to Broadway some time in 2020. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage (Sweat in 2017, Ruined in 2009) will pen the book, and Tony-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon (An American in Paris) will direct and choreograph the show. The score will comprise hits from across Jackson’s massive catalogue.
The Estate of Michael Jackson is denouncing a documentary about two of his sexual-abuse accusers that will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this month, calling it "just another rehash of dated and discredited allegations." The estate said in a statement Wednesday that the documentary "Leaving Neverland" ''is yet another lurid production in an outrageous and pathetic attempt to exploit and cash in on Michael Jackson. The Sundance Institute announced earlier Wednesday that the documentary had been added to the festival lineup. The film tells the story of Wade Robson and James Safechuck now in their 30s who had long-running relationships with Michael at ages 7 and 10. Both men both testified under oath that Michael never did anything inappropriate to them and Michael Jackson was acquitted of all charges of molestation in the 2005 trial. The film is produced and directed by BAFTA-winning director Dan Reed. The Sundance Film Festival kicks off on Jan 24 and runs through Feb. 4.
This mendacious documentary should NOT see the light of day. SIGN THE PETITION: End the Defamation of Michael Jackson & Pronounce His Innocence
Voice your outrage to the people that run the Sundance Film Festival, the director/producer, Dan Reed, and/or HBO and UK Channel 4 who helped create this exploitive film. Share your thoughts and feelings. It is a disgrace that they are giving a platform to these to perjurers in a production that calls itself a documentary.
